| DOEG will for the first time participate in the major Chinese exhibition "China International Offshore Oil & Gas Exhibition" (CIOOE), which is held for the tenth time in New China International Exhibition Center, Beijing, from March 19 to 21, 2012. Last year CIOOE 2011 had over 40,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors on 80,000 m2 of exhibition area. There were 12 national pavilions from e.g. Norway, Italy, United Kingdom, France, Germany and USA.
More and more equipment for the oil and gas industry is produced in China, partly because the local Asian oil and gas market will expand rapidly the coming year. Chinese industry has developed production skills, which make them competitive in the production of labor-intensive equipment. Key technologies and components used on the highly efficient drilling rigs are not available from local suppliers and must be imported, and here Danish suppliers have great opportunities.
The Asian countries have set focus on offshore oil and gas exploration, which gives Danish suppliers to the oil and gas sector new market opportunities. China alone has an estimated oil reserve of 50 billion ton and a gas reserve of 22.3 trillion m3. China has in the next 5 year plan planned to invest US$ 45 to 50 billion in oil and gas exploration and production facilities.
DOEG will build a Danish pavilion at CIOOE 2012, where exhibitors can be profiled together and thereby obtain a high degree of visibility. There will also be space for companies wishing to maintain their own independent profile.
The participation in CIOOE is arranged in cooperation with The Trade Council and the Danish Embassy in China.
